Stephane Meier was born in Valais, Switzerland in 1970. After a first degree (Masters) in architecture obtained from the “Polytechnique de Lausanne” in 1997, he followed different training programs in drawing, painting, photography, calligraphy and ceramics.

In 2006 he was awarded a Bachelor of Education for 10 years of experience working with adolescents as a visual arts teacher. His travels in Australia, Asia, Morocco and Europe have also played an important role throughout his career

His artistic influences are numerous. Artists such as Christian Hetzel, Yamanobe Hidaeki, Pierre Soulage, Lawrence Carroll, Mark Rothko and Su Xiaobai to name a few.

Since 2006 Stéphane Meier has developed a personal technique that explores a deep rooted expression through texture.

He exposes regularly in Switzerland and in Europe. Two recent prizes in 2016 and 2017, awarded by Trevisan International Art (Italy) as well as a cultural merit in 2016 from the town of Savièze (Switzerland) have confirmed his status as a reputable artist. His work has also been mentioned in several international cultural reviews.
